Koycegiz Lake is a hidden gem that most tourists never discover. This vast freshwater lake, fed by mountain streams and thermal springs, is surrounded by dense pine and sweetgum forests. Your boat trip begins from the Dalyan river mouth, crossing into the lake's open waters where the colour shifts from river-brown to brilliant turquoise. Stop at the Sultaniye hot springs on the lake's eastern shore — natural thermal pools right at the water's edge where hot spring water meets cool lake water. Continue to the charming town of Koycegiz for a waterfront lunch and a stroll through the Tuesday market (if visiting on the right day). The return journey takes you through narrow reed channels where water lilies bloom in summer. This is Dalyan's most serene and nature-focused boat experience — perfect for those seeking peace away from the beach crowds.
Board a comfortable covered boat at Dalyan harbour. Coffee and pastries served as you cruise towards the lake entrance.
Enter Koycegiz Lake and watch the water colour change. Your guide points out endemic flora, mountain peaks and the rare loggerhead turtle feeding grounds.
Moor at the lakeside thermal springs. Soak in the natural hot pools where warm mineral water flows directly into the cool lake. Unique temperature mixing experience.
Dock at the town waterfront. Free time to explore the market square, browse local crafts and taste homemade ice cream from the famous lakefront cafe.
Lunch at a family-run restaurant overlooking the lake. Specialties include lake carp, grilled meats and fresh village salads. Vegetarian options available.
Swim in the lake's clear, cool freshwater — a refreshing contrast to the sea. The lake bottom is sandy and the water visibility excellent.
Cruise back through narrow reed-lined channels. In summer, thousands of white water lilies carpet the surface — a photographer's dream.
Return to Dalyan harbour with time to freshen up before dinner.

This was the most peaceful day of our holiday. The lake is stunning — the water colour is unreal. The hot springs at the lakeside were magical, much nicer than the busy mud baths. Lunch in Koycegiz was authentic and delicious. Water lilies on the return were the icing on the cake.

Vacker sjö och bra guide. Maten var god och byn är charmig. Båten var bekväm med tak för skugga. Enda minuset var att vi inte var där på tisdag så vi missade marknaden. Rekommenderar att planera runt det!

A wonderful escape from the summer heat. The lake swimming was so refreshing after days in the sea. Our guide was passionate about the local ecology and taught us so much about the endemic plants. Highly recommend for nature lovers.
