About This Boat Trips

Ekincik Bay is one of the Turkish Mediterranean's last truly unspoiled coves — a vast sheltered bay framed by limestone cliffs and pine forests, accessible only by boat. Your day begins with a scenic cruise down the Dalyan River and out into the open sea. The first stop is the famous Blue Cave, where sunlight refracts through an underwater entrance to create an ethereal blue glow inside the cavern. Swim inside if conditions allow — an unforgettable experience. Continue to Ekincik Bay's main beach for swimming and snorkelling over ancient submerged ruins. Lunch is a feast of grilled fish, meze and fresh salads served on deck at a secluded mooring. The afternoon is spent exploring hidden coves, cliff-jumping spots (optional!) and simply relaxing in one of Turkey's most beautiful coastal settings. This is the boat trip that makes you feel like you have discovered a secret paradise.

Itinerary

09:00

Harbour Departure

Board a traditional wooden gulet at Dalyan harbour. Tea and simit (Turkish bagel) served as you cruise down the river towards the sea.

10:00

Blue Cave Approach

Arrive at the Blue Cave entrance. Your captain manoeuvres the boat for the best light. Swim to the cave entrance and enter the glowing blue chamber.

11:00

Open Sea Cruise to Ekincik

A beautiful coastal cruise past cliffs and pine forests. Spot dolphins (seasonal) and sea turtles on the surface.

12:00

Ekincik Bay Main Beach

Moor at the bay's main beach — a long stretch of coarse sand and shingle with crystal water. Free time for swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing.

13:00

On-Board Lunch

Feast on freshly caught sea bream, chicken skewers, Turkish meze, village salad and bread. Vegetarian and vegan options available.

14:30

Hidden Cove Hopping

Visit 2-3 smaller coves accessible only by boat. Each has unique character — one with a freshwater spring, another with ancient rock anchors carved by Greek sailors.

16:00

Return Cruise

Relax on deck with fresh fruit and Turkish delight as the gulet sails back towards Dalyan. Arrive at harbour by 17:00.

The Blue Cave was absolutely magical — like swimming inside a sapphire. Ekincik Bay is the most beautiful beach we have seen in Turkey, completely unspoiled. The gulet was gorgeous and the crew treated us like family. Best boat trip we have ever done.

Una giornata incredibile. La Grotta Azzurra è spettacolare, molto meno affollata di quella in Capri. La baia di Ekincik è un paradiso nascosto. Il pranzo a bordo era eccellente, pesce fresco cucinato alla griglia. Consigliatissimo!

Fantastic day out but the boat was quite full (26 people). The cave and the bay made up for it though. Our teenagers loved the cliff jumping spot. Lunch was plentiful and tasty. Book with the Holiday Pass for the discount — well worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Blue Cave is safe to enter by swimming when sea conditions are calm, which is most days from May to October. The entrance is a 15-metre swim from the boat. Life jackets are available for less confident swimmers, and a crew member stays at the entrance to assist. The cave is not recommended for very young children or non-swimmers — they can still enjoy the view from the boat.
