Marmaris is one of the best places in Turkey for water sports. The combination of a sheltered bay with calm conditions, warm water from June to October, a well-developed tourism infrastructure, and competitive pricing makes it ideal for everything from a gentle first-time paddleboard to the most adrenaline-charged flyboard session you\'ve ever had.
Most water sports centres offer combination packages (e.g., parasailing + banana boat + tube ride for £45–60) that work out significantly cheaper than booking activities individually. Ask your operator what packages they offer before committing to individual prices.
Parasailing
Harness to a parachute towed behind a speedboat. Soar 100–200m above the bay with spectacular views. No experience needed.
Jet Ski
Ride a powerful jet ski along the coastline or take a guided tour to nearby coves. The most exhilarating individual water sport in Marmaris.
Banana Boat
Tow-inflatable fun for groups and families. Get dragged at speed and inevitably thrown off — the classic holiday laugh.
Flyboard
Propel yourself into the air on water jets strapped to your feet. Up to 10 metres above the sea. The most spectacular water sport available — and surprisingly learnable in one session.
Wakeboard / Waterski
Tow sports behind a speedboat. Wakeboarding involves riding a board like a snowboard; waterskiing uses two traditional skis. Lessons available for beginners.
Tube Ride
Sit on a large inflatable donut dragged at speed. Great for groups and children. Gets progressively wilder as the driver ups the speed.
SUP (Paddleboard)
Stand-up paddleboarding in calm bays. Peaceful and great for balance. Available for hire at most beaches and some hotels. Popular at İçmeler.
Kayak / Sea Kayak
Self-guided kayaking in Marmaris Bay or guided sea kayak tours to hidden coves not accessible by larger boats. Great for active travellers.
Scuba Diving
From beginner Discover Scuba sessions to full PADI certification courses. Marmaris has excellent dive sites with visibility up to 30m.
